The Yorkshire Agricultural Society is celebrating a special partnership with Saint Michael’s Hospice as it reaches its 30th anniversary.

The Society has become an ambassador for the hospice after joining its Guild of Patrons.

As well as raising awareness of the work of this charity, Guild members invest in further developing these vital services so they can reach more local people.

Saint Michael’s Hospice is holding its Pearl Anniversary Fundraising Dinner at the Pavilions of Harrogate which is on the Showground on October 20 and tickets are on sale now.

Nigel Pulling Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society which owns the Great Yorkshire Showground said: “Both the Society and the Hospice are an integral part of the Harrogate community and we are delighted to support Saint Michael’s Hospice which has services based on the Showground and will be hosting its fundraising dinner here this month.”

Tony Collins, Chief Executive of Saint Michael’s said: “As our Just ’B’ bereavement support service for children and young children is based on the Showground, it is especially meaningful for us to welcome The Yorkshire Agricultural Society to our Guild of Patrons. “They have been fantastic long term supporters of local hospice care and we are very grateful for everything they do to help services to continue. “Through involvement with the Guild we look forward to many more years working together to ensure the hospice can provide more care to more people living with terminal illness and bereavement.”

Saint Michael’s also offers inpatient and outpatients services from its hospice building, located in Crimple Valley, as well as care for people in their own homes. Saint Michael’s Just ‘B’ adult bereavement support service is based from Saint Michael’s at Starbeck.

Tickets are on sale now for the Pearl Anniversary Fundraising Dinner at £100 each, or £900 for a table of 10, with all proceeds going to fund its work.

To book tickets for the dinner, please call Saint Michael’s on (01423) 878 628.
