Agricultural experts will headline an event at the Pavilions of Harrogate, organised to prepare farmers for Brexit.

Sir Peter Kendall, Chair of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, and Clare Bend of Agrii will be joined by Yorkshire farmers, Hugh Shedden and Chris Clark at the Brexit Boom or Bust debate next Thursday November 29.

Free to attend, farmers are encouraged to register attendance to the event which will see the panel share their views on farming beyond Brexit and identify the opportunities and challenges for food and farming.

Sir Peter Kendall, Chair of AHDB, will give an overview of the current, rather fluid, situation and highlight the possible threats of Brexit.

Clare Bend of Agrii will touch on the impact on the registration and future availability of agricultural chemicals and the impact on fertiliser and seed imports, should tariffs be set.

Yorkshire farmers, Hugh Shedden and Chris Clark, will share the opportunities for their own sectors, as well as the preparations they are making for the unpredictable trading conditions that lie ahead.

The event, which starts at 6:45pm, is organised by the Future Farmers of Yorkshire (part of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society) and is sponsored by Peacock & Binninington and Agrii.

The Future Farmers of Yorkshire brings together younger farmers, vets and industry supporters.
