The Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS) is a registered charity working to support and promote farming families and British agriculture, and inspire the next generation about all things farming, food and the countryside.

YAS does this by organising events like the Great Yorkshire Show, Springtime Live and Countryside Days, and, with the help of its farming networks, the Society also:

• Promotes and provides emotional, practical, medical and financial support.
• Provides personal and professional development opportunities.
• Champions the needs of farming, agri-food, rural businesses and rural communities.
• Brings science and farming together to underpin agricultural innovation.
• Delivers educational events and activities to educate the next generation.

To fund the delivery of the Society’s aims, first class facilities have been developed on the Showground which operate commercially. These include Pavilions of Harrogate, the Yorkshire Event Centre, Fodder Farm Shop and Café, and Harrogate Caravan Park. Profits from all these businesses goes back to YAS.

Businesses and events held at the Great Yorkshire Showground in 2019 contributed £73.7m to the economy.
